Korcula is known as a small Dubrovnik and it was sad to leave after only one night.
As usual, the day started with a climb, but not as steep as others in the week, this one was just 350m climb in the first 12 kilometers.
Next came the mistake, which we can all learn from… we took a lane to avoid the main road. The lane turned into rubble and stones, not fit to ride on, and pretty difficult to even walk on it.
After visiting a small farm we found a way out and back to the main road.
In fact the main road wasn’t busy at all and we should have stayed on it. Just before Pupnat we turned left off the main road, and this was a great road. The villages were lovely and we stopped for a coffee at Cara.
We made Vela Luka in good time for the ferry to Split. It was quite a long journey and I wanted to get there in good time to enjoy the city, so getting there early was important.
Split is a great city which most visitors use just to get to the islands. It is worth spending time there, you will not be disappointed. We had a great time, and I knew that I would be back, and soon.
